Arrival by land
Anyone wishing to enter the port area must report to the access control upon arrival at the port gate. To register, call the number on the signpost. Access control guides you to your destination. Port of Tolkkinen is located in Porvoo, only about 5.5 kilometres from the Helsinki-Kotka motorway (E18). The port is well connected by road to the rest of Finland and to central industrial areas. For example, the distance to Ring III is only about 34 kilometres.
Arrival by sea
A 7.20 m deep channel leads to the Tolkkis. The fairway is open all year round and the adjacent busy oil port of Sköldvik helps to keep ice conditions favourable. Vessels required to use pilotage take pilotage at 60 02,60′ N / 25 33,80′ Emäsalon N pilot station.
The pilot is ordered by the vessel or its representative. The shipowner, the shipper, the receiver or their representatives must give advance notice of the expected vessel/cargo as early as possible and no later than approximately one week before sailing, in order to organise the berthing of the vessel and the handling of the cargo.
The vessel or its representative entering the port must give advance notice of its arrival as early as possible, but no later than 24 hours before the vessel’s arrival. Advance information can be given to info[a]portoftolkkinen.fi or by phone +358 19 521 1111.
